In 2016, our architects and engineers participated in a public competition for the development of a conceptual architectural-urban solution for the Pedestrian Bridge from “Dimitar Vlahov promenade to November 13th promenade”. The pedestrian bridge is located in the central city area, at a central distance of 130 m between the “Sloboda” Bridge and the “Mother Teresa” Bridge. At the competition, we won the 1st Prize for the best conceptual solution.
The new bridge is a connection at the level of the pedestrian paths on the two promenades from the square in front of the Orthodox Church of the Holy Virgin to the 13th November street. During the design of the bridge, the existing pedestrian and bicycle paths in the minor river bed were taken into account, where uninterrupted movement is possible despite the placement of the bridge. Access to the bridge is at the same level as the existing pedestrian streets on both sides, without the use of stairs and ramps. According to the planning area determined by the project program, the bridge covers an area of 1056 m². The total length of the bridge is 87.00 meters, and the width is 12.00 meters. In accordance with the conceptual solution, an investment assessment of the entire facility was made.
